Babu Antony (Malayalam: ബാബു ആന്റണി) is an Indian film actor, noted mainly for his negative character roles. He has also acted as a lead actor in a number of films. His life and movie roles are much debated in film industry at one time.
He made his debut in Bharathan's Chilampu (1986). He started his career in antagonist roles and later on featured in lead roles with the image of an angry young man. Fazil's 1986 thriller Poovinu Puthiya Poonthennal was a hit on account of Babu Antony's breath taking performance. The film was remade into Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada and Babu Antony portrayed his character in all the four versions, which might be a record held only by him. His career highlights include Vaishali (1988), Aparhnnam (1991), and Uppukandam Brothers (1993). In Tamil film he acted Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya, as portrayed on Trisha Father's who Joseph, and Kanchana (2011), he portrayed as Muslim Bhai.
